Adam Lambert’s mission to make charity lightning strike twice for his birthday appears to be heating up.

The recently-turned-30-year-old broke records last year for celebrity fundraising on charity: water with an astounding $323,803; something he described as an “inspiring gift” to make a difference in the world.

In honor of his 30th, he’s once again asked fans to give – with the goal of $100,000 and an added request for others to “give up their birthdays” for clean water.

“I’ve been asked what I would like people to do this year for me, for my 30th birthday,” he writes. “I’d like to invite you to join me, and “give up” your birthday this year. What exactly does that mean? It means that when people ask you what you want for your birthday, you tell them that you’d like clean water, and ask them to donate money, 100% of which will directly fund water projects. Wait until you see how amazing it feels, and together, I bet we can raise over a million dollars, which will bring thousands of more people clean water.”

Since Lambert’s birthday on January 28th, fans have donated more than $43,000 to his campaign and pledged over 700 birthdays.

It’s a wonderful idea and one I had not heard of before Adam Lambert suggested it. Nothing feels more fulfilling than donating to the cause knowing that somewhere in the World a person or family even can drink or bathe in clean water because of Adam Lambert and yourself. Thanks so much for highlighting Adams charitable nature,
