The Heart Attack Grill’s unhealthy menu includes burgers like the ‘Quadruple Bypass Burger.’ Diners at the restaurant wear hospital gowns, and the waitresses are dressed (barely) like nurses. The owner Jon Basso is called “Doctor.” And the restaurant’s slogan? “Taste Worth Dying For.”
Sadly, a diner has suffered a heart attack while eating at the Heart Attack Grill. According to the Huffington Post, the man was eating the ‘Triple Bypass Burger’ when he went into cardiac arrest. Because of the Grill’s theme, Basso and other customers thought it was a joke.
I wonder when this will all stop being a joke to the Heart Attack Grill. It wasn’t enough when their official spokesman, Blair River, died at the age of 29 last year. Maybe this latest news will do it.
Basso says he called 911 after realizing it was not a prank. “I actually felt horrible for the gentleman because the tourists were taking photos of him as if it were some type of stunt. Even with our own morbid sense of humor, we would never pull a stunt like that,” he said.
The man is reportedly alive and recovering, and hopefully not returning to the Heart Attack Grill.
