“The Artist” actress Missi Pyle looked ultra glam at the Oscars in her hand dyed organic silk seafoam dress.

The dress was the winning design in Red Cargpet Green Dress contest put together by Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of “Avatar” director James Cameron. This is the third year for the contest. Cameron wore the first gown back at the 2010 awards show.

The Marquee Blog reported that even the silk was taken from the worms without killing them, as is the usual method.

Pyle told CNN about the dress during a fitting, “There are so few clothing options that are eco-friendly, and [manufacturing] has a huge impact on our environment. I’m so excited to be going on the red carpet in this gown!”
