Kim Kardashian may be keeping her wedding gifts, but that doesn’t mean she is sitting back and enjoying them whole-heartedly. It seems the she is giving back to charity by donating double the value of what she and ex-husband Kris Humphries received in presents, TMZ has reported.
After 72 days of marriage, Kardashian and Humphries called it quits, when the 31-year-old reality star filed for divorce on Oct. 31. 2011.
Recently, Kardashian sent a letter to every guest in attendance at her wedding, expressing her thanks and gratitude. Obtained by TMZ the letter says, “I would like to thank you for your generous and thoughtful wedding gift. It has taken me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation: an organization that I am very passionate about.”
The Dream Foundation is similar to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as it makes an adult’s wish, who is suffering from a terminal illness, come true. The total cash-value of gifts averaged around $100,000, but Kardashian wrote a check twice that amount for the worthy charity.
This may come as a shock to some, ever since it was reported that Kardashian was pocketing 90 percent of the proceeds from her personal items she auctioned off on eBay. Even though she was giving away her purses, dresses and cars, Kardashian was only donating 10 percent to help the Dream Foundation.
It’s nice to see the reality star giving back with a giant sum; after all she can afford it.
