Waka Flocka Flame may seem tough on the outside, but it looks like he’s also a softy on the inside, especially when it comes to protecting animals against abuse.
The Brick Squad rapper recently teamed up with PETA and shot a new ad to stop chaining, fighting and other abuses of dogs. Waka poses with rescue dog Daphna from the Atlanta Humane Society who was named after PETA’s vice president of cruelty investigations.
The ad reads, “Only cowards abuse animals. To dogs and cats, people are often the biggest bullies.” It goes on to say, “Please, always speak up if you see or suspect cruelty to animals, including chaining, fighting or abuse of any kind. Their lives may depend on it.”
A video was also shot, where Waka defends all animals and speaks about the importance of ceasing abuse. “An animal isn’t going to curse you out, an animal ain’t gon’ fight you. It’s going to show you nothing but love. Animals are just like you, so be cautious of what you do.” In the video, Waka can be seen posing with several dogs, who take to the rapper kindly and vice versa.
This is the second time the rapper has joined forces with PETA. In March 2011, Waka posed nude in the “Ink, Not Mink” ad showing his distaste for fur. Other celebs like Pink’s husband Carey Hart and Steve-O also partook in the project.
