This post is brought to you by Clean Hands, Clean World, a program dedicated to eradicating the spread of infectious diseases.

Do you want to support an amazing cause and possibly win prizes along the way? Then don’t forget to vote in the Clean Hands, Clean World celebrity poll!

As we told you last week, Clean Hands, Clean World is a joint program by PeopleTowels and Clean the World. CHCW works to halt the preventable spread of infectious diseases, all through the power of clean hands. Did you know that five million people a year lose their lives to infectious disease, all because they don’t have access to basic hand washing supplies?

CHCW is working to reduce that number, and they want celebrity support to do it. Right now, CHCW doesn’t have star power, but they would love for a famous eco-humanitarian to help them do more good. So, they’ve asked you to share your opinion of who would rock the cause. The leaders so far:

1. Alicia Silverstone. Vegan Silverstone leads the poll, and with good reason. She’s the founder of The Kind Life and author of “The Kind Diet,” and she also works hard to make the world a better place. From partnering with the PCRM to promote a vegan diet, to helping to save chimps, and joining the fight for safe cosmetics, this animal lover wears her very big heart on her sleeve.

2. Emily Deschanel. Deschanel is another vegan actress who takes caring for the planet seriously. Not only did she prove that it’s easy to maintain a vegan diet while pregnant, the “Bones” star is also vocal about how veganism is one of the greenest choices there is. “There is no such thing as a meat eating environmentalist,” she says. “Nowadays being green is very fashionable, especially in Hollywood. While I think it’s terrific to recycle and drive a hybrid you can have an even greater impact on the environment by making one simple choice: don’t eat meat.”

3. Emma Watson. The “Harry Potter” star may not be a vegan, but she does take the environment seriously, especially when it comes to looking good. Not only has she expressed interest in working with Lancôme to create an eco-friendly cosmetics line, but Watson also designed her own green fashion line with People Tree.

There you have it: the leaderboard thus far. They’re all great choices, but it’s interesting that none of the guys made the cut — at least, not yet. Curious about where they stand? Although not in the Top 3, Sean Penn leads the men, with Richard Branson and Adam Levine on his heels.

What do you think? Is Alicia is the best celeb for the cause? If so, vote to keep her at the top. And if you’d rather see Emily, Emma or one of the other celebs below take the top spot, then go vote right now and see if you can make it happen!

Vote for your favorite celeb in the Clean Hands, Clean World poll.
