At this very moment Demi Lovato is at the rodeo enjoying watching men ride around on bucking horses and the like.

The Disney star tweeted, “At the rodeo!!! So much fun!! These cowboys are so strong”

Demi does a lot of great work for charity, but sadly (and we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt) it seems that she isn’t aware of the animal cruelty that takes place at rodeos.

In case she hasn’t heard about the animal welfare issues, here is what the Humane Society of the United States has to say about why the events are bad news for animals.

“The HSUS opposes rodeos as they are commonly organized, since they typically cause torment and stress to animals; expose them to pain, injury, or even death; and encourage an insensitivity to and acceptance of the inhumane treatment of animals in the name of sport. Accordingly, we oppose the use of devices such as electric prods, sharpened sticks, spurs, flank straps, and other rodeo equipment that cause animals to react violently, and we oppose bull riding, bronco riding, steer roping, calf roping, “wild horse racing,” chuck wagon racing, steer tailing, and horse tripping.”

Perhaps once her fans (and probably some animal organizations) reach out to her, the actress will change her tune and start worrying about the animals instead of admiring the “strong cowboys.”

Here is the picture she tweeted.
