Donald Trump Responds to Sons' Hunting Scandal
Yesterday we told you about the recent controversy surrounding Donald Trump‘s sons, who are taking heat for killing numerous animals while on an African safari last year. In recently released photos, the mogul’s sons can be seen posing next to the carcasses of their victims. In one particularly gruesome shot, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump stand next to a dead crocodile hanging from a tree and in another Don Jr. hold up the severed tail of an elephant.
The photos have sparked outrage on Twitter and drawn a direct attack from PETA who told E! online that, “Like all animals, elephants, buffalo, and crocodiles deserve better than to be killed and hacked apart for two young millionaires’ grisly photo opportunity. If the Trumps want to help villagers, they have plenty of resources at their disposal.”
While the boys have defended their actions via official statements and tweets, their father recently told Access Hollywood that he would not let the incident go without a serious discussion.
“I’m not a fan of the whole situation and I’m going to talk to them about it,” he said. He went on to explain that he has not, and will not view the photos in question, “I don’t particularly want to see them. I’ve never liked it. I’ve never liked that they love it.”
While a verbal slap on the wrist will likely be unpleasant for the billionaire brothers, it may do little to calm the rage surrounding the scandal. For now, the Trumps show no signs of apologizing or quitting their deplorable “hobby”.
