While visiting Washington D.C., actor Christopher Gorham caught a rare, touching act of kindness between White House security guards and a mother and her ducklings.

A mother duck and her offspring were strolling along a sidewalk beside the White House lawn, when the mother hopped onto a step and passed through the gate. Well, her poor ducklings couldn’t make the step, so with a little help from White House security, they made an impromptu ramp to help the ducklings reach their mother.

Even with a valiant effort from the guards, unfortunately the ramp was unsuccessful. No worries, the ducklings were finally reunited with their mother after security picked them up and guided the baby ducks through the gate.

The “Covert Affairs” actor seemed to be at the right place at the right time. “White House security reunites mother duck with her babies. Aw factor of 10,” Gorham tweeted. He was lucky enough to capture it all on video and posted three videos of the sweet act. Posted below is just one of the videos, so be sure to visit Gorham’s WhoSay page to view the entire footage.

Gorham was in town for the American Association of People with Disabilities Leadership Awards gala honoring the USA network for its Characters Unite initiative. He accepted the award on behalf of the network.
