Last week we told you that Kim Kardashian was flour bombed on the red carpet for wearing fur. While it remains to be seen whether Kardashian will take legal action against the flour bomber, whose name has not yet been released, the possible defendant can breathe a little easier. Today, PETA offered to cover the costs of the mystery woman’s defense should Kardashian press charges against her.

Kardashian has been inundated with questions regarding her response to the incident, and while her initial reaction was to “laugh off” the assault, she also claimed that the perpetrator shouldn’t be able to “get away” with it. Regarding the prospect of pressing charges, Kardashian said “I am just going to think about it, because I don’t want someone to think they can really get away with that. So we are going to handle that.”

In a statement to Celebuzz, PETA said: ‘’We don’t believe Kim would be so shortsighted as to go after this woman, but if she does, we’ll definitely look at how to maximise exposure to the cruel fur industry, and that could mean defending the activist if she wishes.’ The spokesperson hopes the reality starlet will “evolve and enhance her image by donating her vulgar furs and exotic-animal skins to the homeless.”

While the notorious animal rights group has targeted Kardashian for wearing fur before, they deny any involvement in the incident.

I understand that wearing fur is not for everyone. Definitely not for me, but paying for someone’s legal fees after flour bombing Kim?… That’s telling people it’s ok to act on their beliefs. I’m all for PETA, but this is a low blow for the organization.

What you can do if live exports disturb you

The outcry should go further than importation and should be directed at the fact that the animals in question were on their way to slaughter in the first place.
