Former “House” star Lisa Edelstein has long been involved in the green scene – showing up on this site multiple times over the years, as well as promoting animal rights issues and advocating for a meat-free diet.

That latter passion (a vegetarian/sometimes vegan for 28 years) is now the focus of a new PETA ad featuring the gorgeous 44-year-old relaxing nude in a bed of leafy kale. The bit urges people to “Go Green by Eating Green.”

“A vegetarian diet is a really important part of what we need to do to help the environment,” she says. “The meat industry is really toxic to the environment. The cattle industry – besides the fact that there’s a lot of cruel things happening – the manure is extremely toxic.”

Check out the full ad and accompanying behind-the-scenes video below.

  • If you can ask persons to be part-time vegetarians… abstaining from meat and/or all animal product in general at least one day out of the week, then what’s wrong with asking them to go vegetarian or go vegan completely, as a way of life?

What’s wrong with telling others not to kill animals? Persons telling the rest of secular American society not to kill the unborn are hardly in a position to object when others tell them not to kill animals!

That being said, Lisa Edelstein is a beautiful woman… her inner beauty, her real beauty, is her compassion for other living creatures.

    • Doug

So is she advocating for the destruction of cattle? How would they survive without land, water and feed? They would soon become endangered just like the american buffalo was (bison). Oh wait, it was sportsman’s groups that conserve that care about wildlife and actually conserve wild lands for habitat like the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Ducks Unlimited that actually do the good work, not greedy feel good groups like PETA.

What About Zero Waste?

Going vegan must be at the heart of any environmental discussion.

Why it doesn’t matter if the Impossible burger is healthy

The Impossible burger doesn’t need to be overtly healthy – it just needs to be vegan.
