She may play some shady roles on television including crazy nanny Carrie on “One Tree Hill,” the mysterious Meredith on “The Vampire Diaries” and the not-so-well liked Melissa on “Pretty Little Liars,” but in real life actress Torrey DeVitto shows her true colors when it comes to protecting animals.

DeVitto recently teamed up with PETA in helping shelter animals find happy and safe homes and speaking out against the cruelties of the fur industry.

In regards to getting a pet, DeVitto strongly advises people to adopt or rescue. “Having a pet in your home makes it so warm and friendly and I think it’s really important that if you’re going to get a dog you should adopt.”

In the video below, the actress sits with her adopted pooch Beau while she talks about the importance of not only rescuing animals, but the appalling world of fur.

“Fur is a huge issue I’m really passionate about. I’ve been passionate about it for a really long time. I just think it’s so despicable and disgusting and to kill these animals, because of some vain fashion, is just so revolting to me and even as a kid I just never could never wrap my head around somebody doing that. And especially nowadays, I just feel like we have so much information and for people to still wear it?”

By watching the video, you can see how truly passionate DeVitto is in supporting animals and saying no to fur. She also recommends to “Never Be Silent” and always speak up for animals.

How is possible someone want to wear part of dead body? Cruelty don’t knows boundaries and they are even proud of it. So ridiculous!

Veld donates money to farm animals and also serves them

Lest we be confused that their giant V logo stands for anything other than Veld.

Trading beef for beans is not a solution, veganism is

Please do substitute beef for beans, but also have tofu instead of turkey, carrots instead of chicken, and I think you see where I’m going.

Guys, extortion isn’t an effective form of vegan advocacy

Assuming we can extort people into respecting the lives of others makes no sense.
