Indian film star and producer John Abraham is speaking out positively on behalf of PETA and his commitment to the animal activist organization.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Abraham said “PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. I’ve been very active with them.
“PETA is an organization that needs people to get up on rooftops and scream to make their cause heard. If they need someone to do that, I’ll do that. If they need someone like John Abraham to jump on the roof, John Abraham will do that.
“It’s because I believe in the cause of animals I’ll do that. Animals can’t speak. They are unduly hurt every time. I will always be an animal lover in my life. I endorse PETA in every way,” he revealed.
The 39-year-old Bollywood heartthrob is also an avid vegetarian. After spotting chicken farms just outside of Mumbai, he decided enough was enough. “I love animals, so why would I eat them. I’m vegetarian and feel better than ever. I’ve especially valued the muscle-building and fitness advantages of a vegetarian diet.”
In 2008, Abraham was even named “Eco Warrior” by the Earth Matters Foundation. It’s not hard to see why.
In addition to working with animals, he also works with Habitat for Humanity encouraging others to donate money and help build homes for the poor. Seems like a very well-rounded guy.
