Miranda Lambert Rescues Stray Dog

Thanks to her well-documented pro-hunting stance, country star Miranda Lambert may not be the first person you think of when it comes to animal rescue. However, where domestic animals are concerned, she has a decidedly softer side.

Lambert and hubby Blake Shelton seem to have a knack for helping stray pets, and recently added a new pup to the their brood, at least for now.

Last week, Lambert shared a photo of the new black and white pooch on Twitter, explaining that she had found the dog along the side of the road.

“And I Found this on the side of the road this morning. Dah-na-na-na-na-na-na-na Batman! (The theme song ):)” she wrote.

This isn’t the first pet that the country singer has saved. Last year, she took in a stray kitten (and immediately lavished her with Fancy Feast), as well as a bloodhound puppy named Ophelia. Perhaps all these new additions are her way of coping after losing two of her beloved pets earlier this year: dog Virginia went missing, and 20-year-old pooch Dixie passed away.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not the latest dog has found a forever home with the country stars. When a fan tweeted to Lambert asking whether she planned to keep the pet, she responded with, “It’s being discussed,” followed by a smiley face, which hopefully means she was winning the battle. If not, a number of Twitter followers have volunteered to adopt the dog, so we can all rest assured that it will find a good home.
