Singer and songwriter Jewel has taken in an injured hummingbird she found on her Texas ranch over the weekend.

The poverty and conservation activist showed her animal-loving side by posting to twitter on Sunday, “Look what I found. Poor thing must have hit my window and is stunned. Hope he’s not hurt 2 bad,” adding a picture of the tiny little bird.

Jewel has set the bird up with a place to recoup and is nursing him back to health, tweeting to fans, “I gave him sugar water and made him a comfy little nest out of old gloves-hope he feels better!”

I would like to suggest that Jewel also sing to the little guy. Her voice always makes me feel better!
