The Ryan Seacrest Foundation has named it’s first ambassador with young starlet, Selena Gomez. Breaking the news on his radio show, Ryan Seacrest talked about how well Selena fits into the organization and their work.

“From the beginning, I could tell that Selena really understood our mission. I’m so grateful that she’s decided to take on this larger role with us, joining our efforts to bring hope and spirit to seriously ill and injured kids,” said Ryan Seacrest. He added, “With her as ambassador, we will continue to expand our programmes at children’s hospitals throughout the country (America).”

The Ryan Seacrest Foundation works to enhance the quality of life for seriously ill or injured children and their families. The first initiative has been to build media centers, called The Voice, within children’s hospitals to help keep the children educated and engaged.

Selena first got involved with the foundation when she visited children’s hospitals in Atlanta and Philidelphia and will now help to create media centers within the children’s hospitals of Boston, Orange County and Dallas.

“The Ryan Seacrest Foundation does such incredible work and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I’m particularly excited about helping to launch a media centre in my hometown of Dallas at the Children’s Medical Center and giving back to the kids there,” said Gomez.

With such an incredible influence already on the lives of children and youth all across North America, there is no doubt that Selena’s involvement will bring excitement and smiles to thousands who need it.
