Actor Alec Baldwin will host a special event to raise awareness for the “What the Frack?” movement that has swept society. It will take place this summer at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse.

Kicking off on June 2 at 6pm, the event includes a screening of the anti-hydrofracking film “Gasland”. The Oscar nominated documentary follows filmmaker Josh Fox as he completes a cross-country mission to discover the lies and contamination behind the fracking process.

Tickets for the event are $22 for adults or $12 for students, and may be purchased by calling 475-7980 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. The Landmark Theatre is located at 364 S. Salina St. in Syracuse.

Baldwin’s mother, who lives in the Syracuse area, runs the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. The actor visits the area often and has shown public support for both his mother’s cause and the community on a whole.

You can check out a trailer for “Gasland” below.
