Cameron Diaz to write nutritional book educationg young girls about proper nutrition

Cameron Diaz is expanding her talents into the writing world, E! News reports. The actress is writing a nutritional book for young girls to learn proper nutrition and how to stay healthy, all while promoting positive body image.

“She wants to stop their fixation on being thin, and for teenage girls to understand that being healthy is more important. She wants to use her celebrity to make a difference. She knows she is a role model to girls and she really wants to use that position to do good. This book is not about weight, it’s about making the right choices,” a publishing source revealed to E!.

In addition to Diaz’s advice, other celebs including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow will lend their expertise. Paltrow has actually become an inspiration for Diaz.

“She’s been inspired by Gwyneth and the way she uses her fame to influence and help people. Now, Cameron wants to do the same,” the source said.

Diaz plans to get hands on by visiting teenage girls at high schools and talking to them about their food choices. The source revealed, “She wants them to know that being thin should not be their priority, it’s about getting the right vitamins and knowing what foods will give them energy and keep them strong. She wants to get their feedback, learn about how they decide what to eat now, and teach them to make more informed choices.”

No official publishing deal is set, but definitely keep an eye out for Diaz’s book release. A website will also be available for young girls to educate themselves.
