Tennis star and avid vegan Venus Williams is adding franchise owner to her resume, as she recently opened her second Jamba Juice store in Dupont Circle near Washington D.C.

Williams partnered with the company in 2011, when she launched her first store in Bethesda, Md. With her partnership and store openings, the tennis superstar hopes to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

“My goal is to help inspire our nation’s youth to become more active and to make better dietary choices. As a recognized healthy, active lifestyle brand that offers simple menu solutions for eating right while engaging in healthy activities, Jamba Juice is a perfect fit to help me in that endeavor. I am excited to be opening stores this year and proud to be a part of the Jamba Juice organization,” she said in 2011.

Jamba Juice offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian choices ranging from protein boosts to energy shots to wraps to sandwiches.

Her second store officially opened on July 10 and she revealed, “I am thrilled to be in DC to celebrate the opening of my newest store. For more than 10 years my family and I have worked closely with the District government and various community leaders to offer adults and children greater opportunities through education and sports. My partnership with Jamba Juice is an extension of that commitment in the fight against obesity and to promote a healthy active lifestyle.”

Since 2011, Williams has been a dedicated vegan to help battle chronic fatigue and full-body inflammation caused by the auto-immune disease Sjogren’s Syndrome. The change in her diet has truly helped better her health and lifestyle, so her Jamba Juice partnership comes as no surprise.

Williams also offers tips on fitness and how to stay strong on Jamba Juice’s site. Check it out here. Williams plans to open five stores in the D.C. area over the next year or so.
