Country singer Miranda Lambert helped out six lucky puppies this week, as she found each one a loving and safe home, PEOPLE reports.

Lambert, an avid dog lover and rescuer herself, tweeted about finding the last pup a new family, “Just dropped the last puppy with her new family in Jersey:) bye bye (Ms.Danks) Lilly! pic.twitter.com/ZEelvJxP. [sic]”

In early July, the 28-year-old rescued an entire litter of 7-week-old German shorthaired pointers. She discovered the abandoned bunch outside an Oklahoma day care, along with a 9-month old Labrador mix. Thank goodness Lambert came along!

She personally took care of each puppy – Conway, Jackson Brown, Cabella, Bently, Whitley and Ms. Danks aka Lilly – until she found each one a permanent home.

Luckily, Lambert has her own animal rescue organization, the Muttnation Foundation, which helped her with the process.

For those who were interested in these six cuties, Lambert told them to not get discouraged and encouraged them to adopt elsewhere on her Twitter page, “If you weren’t able to get one of these sweet angels . . . please visit your local shelter! Don’t forget … love a shelter pet! Y’all rock! [sic]”

This isn’t the first time the country star has rescued dogs. In April and May of this year, she took in two strays. Lambert and her husband, Blake Shelton, also have nine of their own dogs running around their home and backyard.

The outcry should go further than importation and should be directed at the fact that the animals in question were on their way to slaughter in the first place.
