He may be known for spitting dizzying, and at times silly, rhymes, but rapper Ludacris is interested in more serious topics.

September 2nd, this past Labor Day holiday weekend, saw the rapper raise $30,000 for charity during his annual LudaDay Celebrity Basketball Game in Atlanta, Georgia. Even though Ludacris lost to the opposing team, headed by actor Kevin Hart, the rapper is elated with the money the basketball game generated.

The two ballers took to their respective Twitter pages to discuss the game. On his Twitter page, Ludacris wrote, “It’s a charity weekend. So I let (Hart) win. Lol (lough out loud). Congrats (sic) my brother. We raised over 30k for the hood!!! Score 103-100.” For his part, Hart refused to let his pal forget about his loss though, adding on the site, “I kicked Ludacris (sic) a** today… Team Hart. Luda’s Team stinks. I’m a winner… I’m taking my team to Disney World!!!!”

Ludacris, who turns 35 September 11th, received more good news after the game. Atlanta city officials dedicated September 2nd to the generous rapper, who is donating the money raised from the match to local charities. Following this news, Ludacris tweeted “Breaking news! The city of Atlanta just made Sept 2nd officially ‘Luda Day’! That is the best bday (sic) present I’ve ever received.”
