Indian supermodel and actress Anupama Varma is the latest international celebrity to strip down and promote a pro-vegetarian message to the masses.
In the ad, which shows Varma wrapped up like a piece of meat in a butcher shop, she urges fans to ”try to relate to who is on your plate – go vegetarian”.
The ad is being released in India during World Week for the Abolition of Meat and just in time for World Vegetarian Day (1 October) and Vegetarian Awareness Month (October).
“I hope my PETA ad helps challenge people to really think about what ‘meat’ is”, says Anupama. “Eating flesh means eating the corpse of a tortured animal who did not want to die. We are encouraging people to try going vegetarian – for animals, the environment and their own health.”
