Congrats are in order for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, who tied the knot today in Italy.

“It’s great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends,” the couple told People magazine, which will feature exclusive photos from the star-studded event in next week’s issue.

No word yet on if the wedding had some green features similar to what we’ve seen from Natalie Portman or Anne Hathaway recently, but Biel and Timberlake are certainly known for their love of the outdoors.

Biel, 30, is known for her campaign to achieve clean water, especially when she climbed to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro raising awareness for the worldwide water crisis. She was recently honored by Variety‘s Power of Women event for her work with Charity: Water. Her heartbreaking short film “Hole in the Paper Sky” is also a stirring piece of animal rights advocacy.

“I hope that animal lovers will be moved by this film as well because it has an animal rights element to it, which I’m a huge advocate for,” she wrote on her blog.

Timberlake also doesn’t take a backseat when it comes to Mother Earth. The “Friends With Benefits” star and Grammy award-winning singer is known for his love of golf, so when it came to building his own course he made sure to make it an eco-friendly one.

“Environmental sustainability is about more than what we do at our course,” he said in a statement. “It is about taking a leadership role and encouraging other golf courses, and organizations of all kinds around the country and around the globe to emulate our commitment toward making a positive impact on the world we live in.”

He also earned the “Futures Award” from the Environmental Media Association for his green efforts.

Congrats!

Stop calling vegan food “cruelty-free”

Many vegans proudly proclaim that their food is “cruelty-free” as though issues of justice and injustice begin and end with our use of nonhuman animals.

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
