Ian Somerhalder Knows How to Get You to Adopt a Cat

The current article you are reading does not reflect the views of the current editors and contributors of the new Ecorazzi

Actor and activist Ian Somerhalder knows just what it will take for you to head out to your local shelter and bring home a new family member. A cute cat video.

Somerhalder, who is a cat lover, shared one of the most watched cat clips on the Internet and tweeted, “Ok-even if you Dont like animals take asec to watch this-will make you smile. No reason to kill millions per year…”

With nearly 50 million views, we think this pair might have already inspired a cat adoption or two. Sadly, little known fact, 70% of the cats who enter shelters each year end up euthanized. (The number is 60% for dogs.) They desperately need loving families to come and take them home.

If you don’t think the cats are cute (have you no soul?), then do it for the ever so cute Somerhalder. Have you seen that smile? It rivals the kitten hug in the video.

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
