‘Simpsons’ Co-Creator Offers $10K Reward after Pit Bull Attacked

Sam Simon, the animal-lover and co-creator behind the never-ending “Simpsons” cartoon series, is responding to a recent attack on a pit bull by offering a $10K reward for information.

A 2-year-old red and white pit bull mix named Axel was found in Bradenton, Florida with a two-inch-deep gash in his head, apparently inflicted by an ax or machete. The pup immediately underwent surgery where vets found damage to his sinus cavity. Piece of his skull also had to be removed. Despite the attack, those watching Axel says he’s never stopped wagging his tail throughout the ordeal.

The group No Kill Manatee County is funding Axel’s medical care – and has also setup a Facebook page called “Axel’s Angels” that’s already received over 1, 165 likes.

On the popular nationally syndicated radio show “Bubba The Love Sponge”, Simon – who runs his own foundation dedicated to rehabilitating and caring for stray dogs – offered the additional $10K reward.

“If this doesn’t flesh out this dirt bag, nothing will” said Bubba The Love Sponge, Clem. “Sam Simon is a great man.”

The total now being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible now stands at $13,600.

Honesty I truly believe if the media did not “hype” these dogs like they do, these sorts of horrific crimes would not be occuring as frequently and especially to these types of dogs. Kudo’s to Sam Simon and I sincerely hope they find this jerk. Most of all I hope it is not a slap on a wrist by a judge who does not get the people who do these things will eventually let their hatred and brutality spill over to society at large.
