If you’re looking for a new recipe for the holiday season, then we recommend Mayim Bialik’s vegan sofganyot aka jelly doughnut recipe. She sure knows to turn a fatty favorite into a cruelty-free and healthy treat.

“The Big Bang Theory” actress exclusively revealed the traditional Hanukkah recipe to PETA. In addition to ingredients like yeast, sugar and flour, the recipe includes vegan ingredients such as rice or soy milk, vegan margarine and egg replacer.

This is a recipe that requires time, especially since you have to combine the ingredients and knead the dough. It makes a total of eight doughnuts.

It sure sounds worth it! Now you’ll have a yummy breakfast and/or dessert for family and friends to enjoy this holiday season.
