Gwyneth Paltrow is dipping into the cookbook biz again and this time around she wants to help others eat healthy and gain energy all at once with mostly vegetarian-friendly recipes.
Paltrow’s new cookbook, “It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great,” varies from her first two that focused on family recipes. This time around, she offers beneficial recipes for the healthy eater and those on strict diets. The book isn’t totally vegetarian. It looks like there are some fish recipes, but there will certainly be many veg dishes for those who choose a meat-free diet.
The inspiration for her book results from recent health changes. According to the book description, Paltrow recently experienced fatigue and faintness, anemia, vitamin D deficiency and high levels of stress. Her doctor prescribed an “elimination diet to clear out her system and help her body heal.”
This type of diet is very strict meaning cutting caffeine, alcohol, dairy, eggs, sugar, shellfish, deep-water fish, wheat, soy and all processed foods.
“An avid foodie, Paltrow was concerned that so many restrictions would make mealtime boring . . .” the description reads. So, she decided to make fun, easy recipes for herself and others.
With help from Julia Turshen, a food writer and producer, they came up with 185 delicious recipes that follow her doctor’s orders.
Recipes include Huevos Rancheros, Hummus Tartine with Scallion-Mint Pesto, Salmon Burgers with Pickled Ginger, Power Brownies, Banana “Ice Cream” and many more.
The cookbook is set for a release in early April.
