Lena Dunham, the mind behind the hit HBO show “Girls”, has a new guy in her life. A twelve pound scruffy and sweet looking dog now named Lamby Dunham.

The writer and actress posted a few photos on Instagram of her new companion. She also wrote, “And because no day is stressful enough on its own, meet Lamby Dunham. He comes from BARC (@barcanimals) and @lauriesimmons and I sprung him this afternoon”.

Thankfully for Dunham, studies show that sharing your home with a companion animal can help reduce stress levels.

The writer also joins a large community of other celebrity animal rescuers like Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Robert Downey Jr., Jane Lynch, Emma Stone and so many more.

Check out BARC Shelter in Brooklyn, or your local shelter to adopt your own dog or cat.
