Last night turned out to be a pretty good evening for those at the Golden Globes – especially the winners – but those actors, actresses, producers, directors and anyone else in attendance that are vegan had little to none to indulge in for dinner.

The menu included Smoked Flat Iron Steak and Pacific Sea Bass for the main course with Cappuccino Mousse Cake for dessert and other non-vegan appetizers.

It seems like such a huge award show would “cater” to all of its guests.

Yes, the entire meal cannot be vegan – nor would one expect that – but one would think vegan options would be available.

Some of the top winners are avid vegans like Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway. Other major nominees including Woody Harrelson and Joaquin Phoenix are also vegan.

Actress and vegan Mayim Bialik showed up in support of “The Big Bang Theory.” She revealed in a blog post how she ate before hitting the red carpet. She “scarf[ed] down some vegan mac ‘n’ cheese” and good thing she did! In her recap of the night, Bialik wrote, “there was nothing for me to eat, game over.”

Hopefully, other vegans had the opportunity to eat before the show or sneak something in their pockets or purses to snack on throughout the ceremony.

Maybe next year the Golden Globes will offer a variety of dishes that will satisfy each guest.

Totally lame. It’s 2013 and the move towards plant-based eating is accelerating like never before. Get with it, Globes!
