Jessica Alba is adding author to her resume with the release of her first book “The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You,” which is based on her green, healthy lifestyle and successful sustainable company The Honest Company.

The book description reads, “The Honest Life recounts Alba’s personal journey of discovery and reveals her tips for making healthy living fun, real, and stylish, while offering a candid look inside her home and daily life. She shares strategies for maintaining a clean diet (with favorite family-friendly recipes) and embraces nontoxic choices at home and provides eco-friendly decor tips to fit any budget.

“Alba also discusses cultivating a daily eco beauty routine, finding one’s personal style without resorting to yoga pants, and engaging in fun, hands-on activities with kids. Her solutions are easy, chic, and down-to-earth: they’re honest. And discovering everyday ways to live naturally and authentically—true to you—could be honestly life-changing.”

The “Fantastic Four” actress is not shy about voicing her opinions about protecting the planet and her family, especially her two daughters, Honor and Haven.

When Alba became a new mom, she didn’t want her children living in an unhealthy environment, so she created the Honest brand in 2012 with serial entrepreneur Brian Lee, seasoned consumer internet executive Sean Kane and environmental advocate Christopher Gavigan.

At The Honest Company, parents educate themselves about safe, healthy, stylish and affordable products for their children. They can also purchase these eco-friendly items.

She’s even been recognized on more than one occasion for her company and eco-friendly efforts. At the 2012 Environmental Media Association, she received the Green Parent Award for her influential, responsible and green parenting efforts.

Alba’s book hits stores on March 12.
