It seems Ashton Kutcher went above and beyond for his portrayal of Steve Jobs in the biopic “jOBS,” but it didn’t turn out so well.

Kutcher followed one of Jobs’ famous diets by taking on a fruitarian regimen. He stuck strictly to fruits and ate absolutely no animal products. Well, the actor didn’t fair well and ended up hospitalized.

“First of all, the fruitarian diet can lead to like severe issues,” Kutcher told USA TODAY. “I went to the hospital like two days before we started shooting the movie. I was like doubled over in pain.

“My pancreas levels were completely out of whack. It was really terrifying … considering everything.”

Jobs died in 2011 from pancreatic cancer, and he was known for trying different diets to help with his health. In addition to his eating habits, Jobs was, and always will be, known for his Apple empire, and making a dent in the technology world.

“He’s a guy that failed and got back on the horse,” Kutcher said. “I think we can all sort of relate to that in some place in our life where we are moving forward with something and we fall down. You have to have the guts to get back up and go again. I think I share that as well.”

We’re glad Kutcher is OK. You can see him play the Apple co-founder when “jOBS” comes out in April.

The problem here is, that a vegan should not just eat fruits and all kinds of fruit together! For example it is not good to eat oranges together with mango! Like this the stomach becomes acid! A vegan should eat vegetables, salads 1/4, nuts, almonds etc. 1/4, fruits 1/4 and grains, rice, quinoa etc. 1/4. Ashton Kutcher didn’t eat balanced, that’s the problem, not the vegan diet!

  • I agree with Claudia, but this diet goes beyond being vegan. A fruitarian diet is even more limited than a vegan’s diet. Had he followed a vegan dit, he would not have wound up in the hospital.

The outcry should go further than importation and should be directed at the fact that the animals in question were on their way to slaughter in the first place.
