For the last three years Gisele and Tom Brady have been building their dream home, a 22,000 square foot mansion fully equipped with a swimming pool and a moat. Yes, a moat.

From an environmental standpoint, unless the couple is planning on housing all of Brady’s teammates from the Patriots, the house is arguably a monstrosity.

Thankfully, it’s not as bad as it could have been. The home boasts plenty of eco features. Bündchen told People, “We are excited to be using solar power as the main source of electricity in our home. And we are planting our own herbs, fruits and vegetables, which will be my favorite part of the house.” In addition to that, they also have an “eco-friendly water supply and heating and cooling systems.”

It’s wonderful, and not surprising considering Bündchen’s work for the environment, that they incorporated environmentally friendly features into their home. However, does a family of five really need a house that’s 10 times the size of the average American home?

Even in the celebrity world, 22,000 square feet is huge. What do you think? We’re being too harsh? Or, even with the eco construction, still a blight on the face of the earth?

Click over to People to see the aerial view. Because a house so big needs to be seen from the sky in order to see the entire thing.

The two sides claim to both have the “health and well-being of animals” in mind in this partnership, but one likely said “after profitability” under their breath.
