Back in late 2011 Zachary Quinto and his friend Sian Heder crowdsourced funds for their short film “Dog Eat Dog.” Just over a year later, the duo has just released their film in its entirety on Petsami. In this quirky adorable short, Quinto, an animal lover and rescuer, showcases animal adoption.

The actor tweeted about his film, “today was a DOG EAT DOG kind of day. grateful for all the attention and support. rescue a dog before you buy one.”

In this short, Quinto plays a man a little bit obsessed with one particular dog at the shelter. Since the dog, a sweetie pie pit bull, has a microchip, the shelter can’t adopt him out until a waiting period is over. Quinto’s character visits each day in anticipation of adopting his dream dog. But, of course, not everything goes to plan.
