In a society where the term “boy band” conjures sometimes unsettling images of teenage groupies, bad haircuts, and never-ending pop melodies, One Direction’s Harry Styles is showing that there’s a philanthropic side to the band.

During the band’s 2012 trip to Los Angeles, the heartthrob was saddened by the epidemic numbers of homeless in the city. So, according to fellow British singer, Ed Sheeran, on his only day off, Styles purchased thousands of dollars worth of Domino’s pizza and drove around Los Angeles distributing them to the homeless.

The singer, who is often under fire for his love life and extravagant lifestyle, received kudos from Domino’s Pizza, for the act of kindness. “All we really want to say though is thank you to Harry for involving us in such a cool thing that he did,” said Domino’s spokesperson Chris Brandon.

While we applaud the effort, perhaps next time Styles might consider distributing some healthier, more animal-friendly options to the needy.  And when he does, we’ll be right there with him.
