Leonardo DiCaprio and other celebs join UNREAL's mission to unjunk the world with its healthy candy

Leonardo DiCaprio is joining forces with healthy candy company UNREAL and its mission to unjunk the world.

Boston-based candy company UNREAL offers junk-free versions of everyone’s favorite candies like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Milky Way’s, Snickers, M&M’s and Peanut M&M’s. The company guarantees the candy has the same great taste, but is made from real ingredients. It contains zero artificial flavoring, hydrogenateds, corn syrup, GMOS and has less sugar than other candies.

In addition to its healthful qualities, UNREAL also shows love to the planet by responsibly sourcing key ingredients, supporting farming communities and preventing the destruction of rain forests.

“By working together to better understand the health of both people and the environment, we can produce healthier food that will benefit large populations of people while minimizing our impact on the planet,” DiCaprio said.

Celebs including Jillian Michaels, John Legend, Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen and Jack Dorsey are also lending UNREAL a helping hand.

“People may know me for my work in health, wellness and fitness, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy a treat now and then,” said “The Biggest Loser” trainer Michaels.  “And that’s OK.  But the quality of the treat does matter. In the 21st century, I think we can use our better understanding of health and the environment to innovate new ways of making foods that are better for people, better for the planet and universally available.”

UNREAL was founded by Michael Bronner and his two sons, Nicky and Kris. FYI – Nicky is only 16 years-old. They all feel that “. . . people have blindly come to accept that junk food needs to be made with junk to taste great and be sold for a low price; it doesn’t need to be this way and companies need to change.”

For those celebrating Easter, you can now fill your kids baskets with UNREAL unjunked candy. UNREAL is also holding its 2013 Easter Bunny Apology Tour, where the Easter Bunny is making his rounds encouraging other candy companies to follow in UNREAL’s footsteps.

UNREAL is sold at 20,000 stores nationwide, including Target and CVS.

    My grandfather, H.B. Reese, invented Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and was the Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Hershey, PA based H.B. Reese Candy Company which manufactures Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Kit Kat Bars!

    Unreal Brands has been misleading consumers by “touting” that its Peanut Butter Cups are healthier than Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

    How so?

    Well, the “serving size” of Unreal Brands Peanut Butter Cups are -14% LESS than the “serving size” of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

    When you compare an Unreal PB Cup to a Reese’s PB Cup at the same “serving size,” Unreal Brands Peanut Butter Cups have MORE Total Calories, Calories from Fat, Total Fat, Saturated Fat and Cholesterol than Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

    Unreal Brands is like a cigarette manufacturer saying our cigarettes are healthier because the “serving size” of its cigarettes are -14% LESS than the “serving size” of the leading brand cigarette.

    It’s a “marketing illusion” calculated to MISLEAD consumers and that’s exactly what Unreal Brands is doing, misleading consumers.
