Bob Barker Offers $75K to Save Cats From Intubation Exercises
Cat lovers and those against intubation exercises, come on down and join Bob Barker in his fight to get Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) to stop these harmful practices on cats.
Barker has joined forces with PETA against WUSTL’s cat intubation laboratory by offering the school $75,000 to fund state-of-the-art pediatric simulators that will take the place of nine cats repeatedly having tubes inserted into them.
Intubation exercises are where medical students practice intubation techniques on live cats. These exercises are said to help them perform intubations on newborn babies.
This cause is quite close to the former “The Price Is Right” host, as his wife was supposed to attend WUSTL, but Barker caught her eye and she married him instead of going to college.
As animal activists know, Barker isn’t shy in voicing his opinions against animal medical experiments or any form of animal abuse. This also isn’t the first time he’s asked a school to cease intubation practices. In January 2012, Barker asked the University of Virginia to do just that and they did!
To join Barker and PETA’s fight, head on over to PETA and send your very own letter to WUSTL.
