If there is a god, did he or she create a perfect creature? According to Moby, the answer is yes, and that creature is a dog.

The singer spent the weekend visiting Best Friends Animal Society so we understand why he left feeling in awe of those amazing canines. The sanctuary and advocacy organization cares for animals while they wait to be adopted, and on a national scale they “fight discrimination against pit bull terriers, battle commercial breeding operations and keep community cats safe and out of shelters with trap/neuter/return.”

He also plugged their huge adoption event happening in L.A. Over 50 rescue groups will gather this weekend at La Brea Tar Pits with over 1000 adoptable animals. That’s a lot of companions. So, if you’re in the greater Lost Angeles area from May 3rd through May 5th and you’re looking for a new family member, you’re sure to find one there. According to Best Friends, “Adoption fees for Los Angeles shelter pets (both city and county) are under $100 and include spay/neuter and updated vaccinations, an adoption starter kit including free dog/cat food and treats from Natural Balance, $250 worth of coupons from PetSmart, a free BarkBox, dog toys from Mammoth Pet, and kitty litter from Precious Cat.”

Moby got back from his trip and tweeted this little bit of heaven. Just the kind of face that exists all over the country, waiting to find a home.
