Animal protection powerhouse, The Humane Society of the United States, wants foodies to celebrate just how delicious vegan food can be. Joined by Emily Deschanel, Kathy Freston and Tal Ronnen, the organization is hosting veg appetit, an event designed to showcase how we can all eat for a more compassionate world.

Tickets are available now for the June 16th tasting in Culver City, California. You won’t just be dining with stars or eating fabulous foods, you’ll also be supporting HSUS’s Farm Animal Protection Campaign and Hollywood Outreach program. The organization describes the afternoon as “An epicurean event featuring gourmet vegan fare created by select chefs, veg appetit will be a celebration of the variety and quality of options available to the conscious foodie.”

We’re not surprised Deschanel is the celebrity host. The “Bones” star has long been living a vegan lifestyle, maintaining her cruelty-free diet through pregnancy and, just yesterday, standing up for dairy cows in a new mother’s day campaign to protect bovine mothers. The actress and producer on “Bones” has even educated the public through her show, tackling issues like factory farming, captive wildlife and dog fighting.

Grab your tickets now, and get ready to schmooze with the stars and dine on delectable vegan eats.
