Today, Jamie Oliver asked his fans for help in designing his upcoming cookbook. He requested input on which chapter should come first – the chicken or the veg – and the one that received the highest number of votes would win.

“Help Me guys please I’m just about to sign off my next cook book its all about super delicious really affordable food and I just can’t choose whether to put Chicken chapter first or Veg chapter first ??,” Oliver wrote. “Everyone goes mad for chicken but veg I think is really really exciting and often secondary and we need to find more ways to love it and eat less meat so you choose ill count your responses and it goes to press tomorrow thanks so chicken or veg ??? Love you guys bless nice one xxxx.”

It seems he received an overwhelming amount of replies. The winner? It was none other than the veg chapter!

“Wow Thank you people ……..Veg wins ……………….. by a land slide victory !!!!! Thank you its great to know you guys want more inspiration in the veg world I agree with you by the way this is great feed back and as clear as day light …. big love can’t wait to show you the finished book,” he posted earlier today.

His upcoming cookbook, “Save With Jamie: Shop Smart, Cook Clever, Waste Less,” is an accessible “bible” for those looking to eat smart and save money simultaneously.

Oliver told the London Evening Standard, “This year I’ve got the message loud and clear that as everyone comes under bigger and bigger financial pressure, they want help to cook tasty, nutritious food on a budget. So this book was born completely out of public demand. Our biggest luxury is knowledge, whether times are hard or not. So get kitchen-smart and smash the recession.”

His book is said to hit shelves Aug. 29, 2013. Reportedly, a TV show is also in the works that will coincide with the book.
