Lately, Portia de Rossi has been talking up her veganism, and she is at it once again. This time, she’s letting others know how to do it successfully.
Here’s what the “Arrested Development” actress had to say in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, after the reporter said she gained weight as a vegan. “[Laughing] Ah that is actually the first time I have heard that. Most people lose a lot of weight when they become vegan. Here’s the thing: You do have to do it right. You have to know what to eat, but it’s actually a lot easier than you think, especially now. You should try it again because there is so many great products out there that can help you transition into a plant-based diet.”
She also added veganism is a great way to respect animals, “I really love animals and I don’t want to be a part of harming them in any way.”
The actress and her wife, Ellen DeGeneres, aren’t shy to speak about their diets and love of animals. They’ve impacted all sorts of people looking to improve their lives in a healthy way.
If you’re looking to go vegan, or in need of a new recipe, try Ellen’s favorite dish, red beans and rice.
