Nietzsche, the beloved pup rescued by “The Vampire Diaries” actor, Ian Somerhalder, is going to be a mother, which makes Somerhalder a grandfather.

“Im a GRANDPA!Am I too young???My Nietzsche with a little belly full babies-about to reek[sic] havoc in our house…” tweeted Somerhalder with an adorable pic of him curled up with Nietzsche and her swollen belly.

We know Somerhalder is a big believer in spaying and neutering dogs and cats in order to fight companion animal overpopulation. In fact, Nietzsche was supposed to be spayed on September 9th. Our guess is that the pooch, saved off the street just a few weeks before her appointment at the vet, was already pregnant. We have no doubt that the TV star will have her fixed after she gives birth.
