Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is no stranger to wildly successful restaurants; in fact, the talented CEO and entrepreneur has personally launched eleven booming restaurants in New York and thirty-six around the globe.
In the new year, Vongerichten will be trying his hand at something new; “We’re opening a vegetarian restaurant in the spring – 100% vegetarian, raw, and vegan.” While he has not yet released the location and details of this new restaurant, the people of New York can certainly expect a fresh menu full of the creativity and luxury that Vongerichten is known for.
His latest restaurant, ABC Cocina, was launched less than a year ago and is already listed on Michelin’s Bib Gourmands for 2014. His most well-known restaurants, The Mark and Spice Market in New York, continue to be extremely popular.
This new New York eatery will continue the growing national trend of vegan and health-conscious fine dining. 2013 saw a slew of vegan restaurants opening across the U.S. In fact, Forbes named high-end vegan cuisine one of the year’s top food trends.
