Katy Perry May Have Picked up Ex's Healthy Eating Habits
Katy Perry may no-longer be in a relationship with actor/comedian Russell Brand, but it looks like her health-conscious, animal-loving ex husband may have rubbed off on the singer.
Although it was rumored that Perry taunted Brand with a photo of a Big Mac after their split, the singer had some very specific demands when it came to healthy food for herself and her crew during the star’s New Year’s show in Las Vegas. The singer made a deal with Caesar’s Palace, which handled the catering, for a variety of fresh fruits and veggies.
For general backstage catering, Perry requested a constant supply of healthy snacks, including fresh veggies – spinach, broccoli, celery, beets, carrots, kale, etc. – and both tropical and traditional fruits. She also asked for a health-conscious vegetarian option to be available at all meals.
For her own private dressing room, Perry’s list was even more specific. The singer asked for fresh organic fruit – including sliced pineapple, mango, kiwis, etc. -, fresh vegetables, healthy granola, dried figs, whole grain tortilla chips, hummus and guacamole.
Longtime vegetarian Russell Brand made the switch to veganism back in 2011 after watching the food documentary “Forks Over Knives.” Based on his twitter feed it looks like he’s back to being a vegetarian but is still actively involved with animal-rights and environmental causes.
