Taraji P. Henson, American actress and singer, poses in angel wings with her dog on a new PETA billboard in the Detroit area following at least one freezing death tragedy. The phrase “Be an Angel for Animals—Keep Them Inside, Where It’s Safe and Warm” highlights the importance of protecting your pets when the temperatures dip below freezing.

About her pup, Henson says, “I never thought that I could be so in love with an animal until I had Willie. He’s our family. … He’s just the best companion. Dogs to me are like children. … They’re so pure in their love, and all they do is aim to please.” The “Hustle and Flow” actress understands the importance of not leaving her beloved fur baby outside during the winter months and spreads the message in her new PETA campaign.

Although animals are equipped with fur coats of their own, that doesn’t mean they are immune to the dangers of frostbite and exposure. Just like human beings, this is an especially important matter for the more vulnerable pet populations like babies and the elderly. Please keep your pets inside with you, snuggled up, where they belong.

Don’t blame vegans for the shame you feel about using animals

The shame Carly Lewis claims veganism casts over her is more likely the ghosts of moral uncertainty, spectres that are more likely fish than cows, wondering how morality can possibly be used as ammunition in favour of murder.
