Marc Maron, American stand-up comedian, podcast host and actor, has a new gig as a PETA ambassador. The outspoken comedian appears in an animated video for the animal welfare organization encouraging the spaying and neutering of companion animals.

Maron says your fur babies will live longer, healthier, happier lives because “you gave a sh*t” and had them spayed or neutered, saving countless animals lives by proxy.

Unfortunately, there are more animals in this country than there are forever homes for them to be loved in, so spaying and neutering can lessen the number of animals that are euthanized yearly. In a six year period, a female dog and her puppies can produce an astounding 67,000 puppies, and the number is even larger for a female cat and her kittens, producing a staggering 370,000 kittens in only seven years’ time.

Several areas in the U.S. have adopted mandatory spay or neuter laws, which has cut the number of euthanizations in those areas down significantly, but we still have a long way to go. If you are an animal owner, give a sh*t and have your pet spayed or neutered.

this! A seriously funny way to raise awareness about a seriously important issue.
PETA also just held a 24-hour spay-a-thon where they fixed 400 animals (http://www.peta.org/blog/spay-a-thon/)
Keep up the good work—spaying and neutering are the keys to ending animal

I have to say, this is one of my favorite videos from PETA. Marc Maron is gold in it! I also get a kick out the animation, especially when the vet returns the cat with a lollipop! It’s a humorous spin on an important topic. Spay/neuter is a must!

Except PETA doesn’t care about animals as anything more than a marketing ploy. That is why they constantly have a 90+% kill rate of the animals people give to their “shelters” thinking they can help re-home. Every single year there is another article like this when the department of AG goes in and gets the new numbers. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2106757/PETA-killed-95-adoptable-dogs-cats-care-year.html
