Talk about dedication to your cause! Vivienne Westwood, English fashion designer, is known for her modern punk fashions and fiery, long red hair, but the business woman has made a statement by cutting off her signature locks to raise awareness for climate change and prove that she is proud of her age.

Westwood was spotted during Paris Fashion Week working a shorter grey hair style and unapologetically displayed it during a protest in London this week. A spokesperson for the quirky 72 year-old said, “Vivienne cut her hair as we must all wake up to climate change. And secondly she wanted to cut the red out for a while and have it white – to show she’s proud of her age.”

The fashion designer has a history of speaking out and wholeheartedly fighting for causes close to her heart. She is a dedicated environmentalist campaigner and has engaged in protests against oil drilling in Arctic and fracking. We admire Westwood’s dedication and love how she is able to get her powerful point across without even saying a word.

You can see a pic of her new cut here.
