Ricky Gervais is known for his sense of humor but the English actor is showing that when it comes to animals suffering, he takes the matter really seriously.

The ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ star took to Twitter this weekend to expose the cruelty behind the fur industry.

The post also included a graphic photo of an animal, clearly in pain, caught by the front paws in a metal trap in the woods. The photo is so heartbreaking that Twitter even shows a ‘Sensitive Material’ warning before previewing it. Although it’s probably less controversial than his previous tweets about fur.

Gervais didn’t explain what prompted the tweet but having it retweeted over 3,000 times, the funny man is once again using his celebrity to promote all the right things and those innocent beautiful animals are no doubt very thankful.
