Johnny Depp has previously supported environmental campaigns so it makes sense that he got really excited when meeting the CEO of Tesla electric cars.
“I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” Depp told The Sun in an interview about his time shooting his new movie Transcendence. “The director introduced me to Elon Musk at Tesla.”
The 50-year-old was so thrilled he couldn’t help but ask for a ride in the electric car with his co-stars. But the joy ride didn’t get too far.
“We had a first – maybe the first -Tesla jam,” Depp explained. “I was in the front seat while Paul Bettany was sitting on my lap. Rebecca and Wally (Pfister) were in the back. Elon was driving and we were pulled over speeding.”
“Elon had a good sense of humor about it,” he continued. “The cop did not. He needed a humor chip. But it was a good time, nonetheless.”
There’s no word if Depp will go ahead and get his own electric Tesla but Transcendence comes out in theaters this week.
