In what’s sure to become the butt of many a late night joke, White House grounds keepers are having trouble capturing an elusive red fox.

The critter took up residence last year on the White House grounds during the government shutdown in October. At the time, much of the grounds staff was away on furlough, which as any fox will tell you, is the perfect time to setup shop.

While foxes are about as much of a threat as a squirrel, this one is causing some headaches. Not only did it rip through Michelle Obama’s South Lawn garden during the furlough, but it’s also been “tripping off alarms in the middle of the night” and “doing as he pleases on a campus overseen by dozens of highly-trained secret service agents.”
