The Onion's Arguments For and Against Animal Testing

Count on The Onion to hit one out of the park when it comes to discussing an important issue that is too often ignored. The publication released a list (in its usual delightfully humorous way) of the arguments for and against animal testing.

Around 26 million animals are used in experiments every year to test the safety of beauty products and medications. Many people argue that this longstanding practice is inhumane and easily replaceable with other methods. Of course, The Onion showed just how ridiculous and selfish animal testing is by using humor to expose people to the truth about this sadly common and cruel practice.

Some of the very funny arguments in favor of animal testing include, “Human race may live to see the final elimination of split ends and frizz”, and “No chance whatsoever that our present-day treatment of animals will be judged harshly by future generations”.

And now for the counter argument. The Onion writes, “Alternative methods of testing do not demonstrate sexy shine of Summer Shimmer lip gloss in same way”, animal testing is “Kind of mean” and finally, “These are animals we could be eating”.

Read the complete list and have a good laugh over at The Onion. It’s worth it.

Veld donates money to farm animals and also serves them

Lest we be confused that their giant V logo stands for anything other than Veld.

Trading beef for beans is not a solution, veganism is

Please do substitute beef for beans, but also have tofu instead of turkey, carrots instead of chicken, and I think you see where I’m going.

Guys, extortion isn’t an effective form of vegan advocacy

Assuming we can extort people into respecting the lives of others makes no sense.
